The first head of the urology course was a student of Professor A. A. Chaika — Associate Professor E. A. Tuzhik. Tuzhik was a qualified specialist, performed many operations, conducted an outpatient appointment, went to the areas for consultations and urgent operations for urological patients and was a freelance inspector of the regional health department. Associate Professor E. A. Tuzhik died of pneumonia during the Great Patriotic War.

The resumption of teaching urology at the Medical Institute and the organization of the urological service in the Vinnytsia region in the postwar period is associated with the name of Pynevych Mykhailo Vasyliovych. In the clinic led by Pinevich M. V. began great pedagogical work, complex surgical interventions began to be performed, urologists were trained for the regional center and districts of the region, and a scientific society of urologists began to operate. In the postwar years the field of research of the clinic were: tuberculosis of the genitourinary system, post-traumatic and post-inflammatory strictures of the urethra in men, tumors of the genitourinary system, medicinal properties of radon waters of Khmilnyk resort, functional state of kidneys in various urological diseases.

Training of highly qualified urologists began through clinical residency. The first clinical resident of the urology course was Rymsha V. F., later in different years in the clinical residency in the course of urology studied Maximov V. D., Skoropadsky V. N., Gresko I. V., Yatsuba K. F., Gursky B. F., Parkhomchuk A. Z, Hrobust D. Training of foreign doctors in clinical residency has been set. Nejem Imad, Al-Shami Ibrahim Mohammed, Nasser Qadri, Abdul Monaf, Osama Issam Fadlala, Kubillos Gutierrez Jorge, Halabi Iyad, Kasem Iyad, Hisham Al Wahish, Atua Al Husam, Kraham Saleh Barabid and others have undertaken it.

Assistants of the urology course at this time worked: Maksimov V. D., Gursky B. F., Potekha Y. B., Lonsky L. Y., Baralo I. V.

According to the materials of the clinic, in that period the candidate’s dissertations were defended by Vedenko B. G. (“Postoperative Urinary Fistulas of Kidneys and Ureters”), Baralom I. V. (“Development of Algorithms for the Selection of Surgical Treatment, Postoperative Observation and Rehabilitation of Patients with Prostate Adenoma”), Pushkar O. M. (“Modification of a One-step Valvular Prostatectomy”)

The urology course has been training interns-urologists since 1992.
